In a world often divided by inequality, injustice, and suffering, the message of Jesus Christ offers a profound and transformative vision for a just and compassionate society. This seven-week sermon series, "When Social Justice Meets Jesus," invites us to explore how faith and justice intersect in the life and ministry of Jesus. Drawing from the rich tradition of the United Methodist Church and Wesleyan Theology, we will examine how the Gospel calls us to pursue not only personal faith but also a commitment to justice. From Jesus’ proclamation of good news to the poor, to His radical inclusion of the marginalized, to His ultimate sacrifice on the cross—each week will challenge us to see justice as a core element of our discipleship. Through stories such as the woman with the bleeding issue, who found healing and dignity in Jesus' compassionate touch, we will confront the realities of our own time: the stigmas, the barriers, and the systems that keep people on the margins. Together, we will seek to embody a faith that acts, a love that transforms, and a hope that envisions a world made anew. As we engage with Scripture, the prophetic tradition, and the witness of the early Church, may we be inspired to live out our faith with renewed courage and commitment to justice.
