Song Leader/ Musician
The Song Leader and Musician position is a salaried part-time position, compensated weekly. The ideal candidate is skilled in both traditional and modern worship genres, contributing to a blended worship service. This role is pivotal in advancing UMCLW’s vision for worship services and community engagement.
$25 per hour for 5 hours per week (up to a possible flat rate of $200 a week based on skill and expertise). 1 Hour Service, Pre-lude, Postlude, and Prep Time.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Pastor and Worship Design Team to create meaningful, regular and special worship experiences.

Lead congregational singing, including teaching new songs as needed.

Help select and secure music and musicians for worship services.

Participate in worship planning meetings, Sunday services, and special services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong vocal skills with the ability to lead and teach congregational singing.

Proficiency in modern music and hymns that can be used in musical worship

Ability to accompany on piano or guitar while singing.

Ability to learn worship service structures and the role of music in worship.

Flexibility and adaptability in working with various worship participants.
Accountability

The Song Leader/ Musician reports to the Pastor and is accountable to the Leadership Team and Staff Parish Relations Committee.

A 60-day probationary period will begin upon hire, with a performance review at 45 days.

Either party may terminate employment during the probation period if the role is not a good fit.

A background check is required before permanent employment.
