Stephen's diverse background and extensive leadership experience have shaped him into a compassionate and intuitive presence, dedicated to fostering personal growth, community engagement, and spiritual development.

Early in Stephen's journey, he pursued Pastoral Studies at Berean University, where he started building his understanding of theology and spirituality. This laid the groundwork for his future endeavors and fueled his passion for helping others while challenging them in their own spiritual exploration.

Currently, Stephen serves as the Director of Doing Good Things in Portland focusing on mobilizing volunteers and student groups to find creative and tangible ways to serve the city. He also serves, half-time, as the Lead Pastor at The United Methodist Church at Lakewood and is a recent graduate of the Spiritual Director Training Program at the Franciscan Spiritual Center. Stephen has also gone through national training as a Facilitator of Experiential Education.

Stephen combines his compassion and genuine interest in the well-being of others to actively facilitate a nurturing and inclusive community where individuals can find meaning, support, and expressions of their spirituality. His passion for developing people, emotional healing, and soul care drives his approach to encourage growth in those he serves. Stephen firmly believes in guiding and empowering individuals to unlock their full potential, encompassing not only their spiritual well-being but also their holistic growth.

Outside of his professional commitments, Stephen finds joy in the company of loved ones and immersing himself in nature. Sharing heartfelt experiences with friends brings him solace, and he cherishes road trips with his wife as opportunities for adventure. Together he and his wife have five children, and spending time with them is when he feels the richest. In his free time, Stephen indulges in rock climbing, reading, and engaging in contemplative practices that enhance his connection to the world.
